Our ExpressionEngine Maintenance Services Get a Leader
We're excited to announce that Alex Glover has taken over the reigns of our maintenance services!
As an existing customer of Visual Chefs (eecoder), you may be asking yourself, "What does this mean for me?" Well, it means that something wonderful has happened! Traditionally our entire development team, including myself, has been responsible for maintenance work across all of our clients. This worked well for a number of years, but as our core projects have grown larger and our maintenance demands increased, our responsiveness has suffered. In most cases we've still been able to close small tasks quickly, but requests requiring several hours of development have fallen into an ever-growing queue. This has presented a challenge, as the team was being forced to break focus on larger projects and shift gears towards maintenance items, which had a negative impact on our efficiency. We've tried implementing "maintenance days" or scheduled "maintenance hours", but such concepts were broken from the start—turning same-day turnaround times into days of waiting.
With Alex at the helm we've already accomplished a few great things:
- Increased efficiency and focus on the larger projects allows us to spend more time where it's needed most.
- Items that require full-team visibility are brought to the group for review and discussion, ensuring that you have our undivided attention from the get-go.
- Having quickly completed the bulk of our maintenance backlog, we're now primed to respond faster and more effectively to new maintenance requests.
